what is an ORALDNA® TEST?

OralDNA®

Have you ever wondered what diseases you may be prone to, or what kinds of harmful bacteria you could have in your body right now? OralDNA® is a revolutionary new method for discovering hidden pathogens that threaten your oral and systemic health.

Finds the pathogens that cause gum disease and may also increase your risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stroke, pregnancy complications, and low birth weight.
Identifies any gene markers that may make you prone to inflammation. This is closely linked to the severity of periodontal disease, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
Helps us understand the severity of your periodontal disease, allows us to formulate the best treatment plan, and gives us a starting point to measure progress.
We can also learn if you have a high risk type of HPV – the kind associated with oral cancer.

How it works

Collect

First, we take a sample of your DNA with a saline rinse. Then we send your sample to the team at OralDNA to be analyzed.

Analyze

The bacteria in your DNA is measured against a control sample to determine what types of bacteria live in your mouth and body.

Report

From that information, a report is formed. This information will help us determine exactly how to best treat oral issues and help you prevent them.
