Missing Teeth? Here Are Your Options

In days past, losing a tooth was a permanent event people had to live with for the rest of their lives. While there might have been some solutions available, they were generally not very accessible.

In days past, losing a tooth was a permanent event people had to live with for the rest of their lives. While there might have been some solutions available, they were generally not very accessible.

Fortunately, patients nowadays have access to a wide variety of different solutions to replace missing teeth, some of which can also look and feel just like the real thing.

If you have some teeth missing and are looking for a way to replace them to enhance your smile, here are 3 possible ways to do it:

Dental Implants

Dental implants are made of titanium and shaped like a screw, and mimic the function of a tooth’s natural roots. They are placed directly into the jaw to replace the missing tooth. This new root will then have a dental crown added on top to restore the full appearance of your smile, as well as the full function of your teeth.

This is a very popular solution as dental implants look and feel just like natural teeth, helping people regain confidence and improve their bite. If you have some missing teeth and your other teeth are generally healthy, individual implants are an excellent choice for you.

All-on-Four Implants

But what if the damage is more extensive?

Well, then you might be better off with all-on-four dental implants which can replace the full arch of your teeth in a single procedure. The process is similar to individual implants, except the patient receives just 4 implants across the jaw, and a full-arch dental prosthetic is attached on top.

This procedure offers an almost-instant upgrade to your smile, and it’s usually recommended when people experience multiple missing teeth, or even when their natural teeth need to be extracted.

Hybridge Restorations

Hybridge restorations are similar to all-on-four implants, except patients will receive 1-2 additional implants in the jaw for better support. The major difference and benefit of this procedure is that patients leave with their full set of new teeth on the same day, so at no point are they required to live with missing teeth.

Because of this, hybridge procedures are quickly becoming the go-to solutions for people with extensive dental damage that need a full-mouth restoration. Like with the other types of implants, hybridges look and function exactly like your natural teeth!
